I am writing a marketing/communication plan for a company in Rotterdam, Holland. I am doing the market research at the moment. I have got a couple of questions, I hope anyone of the momolo group members can assist me in finding the correct answers;

-          What does the UK mobile (casual gaming) market look like at this moment?

-          What is the ‘mobile internet usage’ in the UK market?

-          Which handsets/manufacturers have the biggest share in the UK mobile internet market?

o   Ea top 10 usage/top 10 sales

-          How much money are people spending  on mobile internet in the UK?

-          Who is earning the most from mobile internet in the UK?

o   Providers?

o   Third parties?

-          What technologies are already active on the UK mobile market?

o   On/off portal

o   Flash (mobile casual game development)

o   Appstores

-          What are the most prominent trends on the UK mobile market?

-          Are there mobile (gaming) portals active on the UK market?

I would appreciate any help offered. Only guidance to the right sources is more than welcome too.

Kind regards,

Rick Thomas

ITravel App http://www.momolo.org/topic.jsp?messageid=416 We are creating a small but functional "white label" travel application for initially the iPhone. The application will be created for Travel Agencies & Tour Operators to give their customers who have booked a holiday. The branded application will contain live feeds to

  • Weather updates
  • Currency calculator
  • Top 10 tips of chosen destination
  • Account booking info.

We will also have a push notification server for sending reminders prior to travel i.e passport, tickets, insurance and some up selling with book a car or an excursion.

On return the customer can through the application rate and comment on their trip as well as share photos of their holiday.

If there are any interested parties from any angle please feel free to drop us an email andy@myoxygen.co.uk

Source for mobile settings http://www.momolo.org/topic.jsp?messageid=320 We've been doing some work with Java applications for a wide variety of networks and phones. However, it appears that users are often going to have the wrong settings for their phones.

For example, the Nokia 2630 I bought doesndidn't download Java applications when I first tried. I had to randomly guess that I needed to change Default Configuration Settings from T-Mobile to T-Mo WEB, but we can't expect end users to know this for each phone / network operator configuration.

At the same time, I see the simplicity and effectiveness of Apple's App Store. Download and run! Until the same works for Java, Apple will have a lead.

Who's responsible for making Java applications work? The manufacturers or the networks? Do they have a place where users can go and get the right settings, easily?

Mobile Opportunites for the London Olympics http://www.momolo.org/topic.jsp?messageid=391 Having listened to another Webinar around the London Olympics my view is that there is very little innovation being put into this event. The various organisations involved appear to show little understanding of the variety of applications and the amazing position that mobile will occupy, >99.9% of visitors will have a mobile device but what is going to be delivered?

Is there someone within our community who can enlighten me or will I just continue being depressed by the lack of imagination, or should I storm the Olympic Stadium and plant a flag of Mobile freedom?

btw , it would make a great topic for a MoMoLo event
